Every Culture, since the beginning of time, has been faced with the same challenge: How to best help a developing individual become a social being? Over thousands of years, all over the world, there is one resounding response:
DANCE!
Dance can play an important role in the puzzle of how to learn the skills needed to become social.
Music teaches listening and peripheral awareness.
Rhythm teaches measure and balance.
Form invites inclusive participation and interaction in archetypal patterns.
In this course, we will travel through history, and experience how different ages have used forms, rhythm , and measure to introduce that elusive event called culture. We will explore and experience how these dances of the past, can be brought to the children of today.
You do not have to be a teacher, or even already be a dancer. All are welcome on this moving journey through time. Come join us as we dance the story of human development through the ages!
This course will be presented both In-person & On-line.
