Movement Therapy

The therapeutic exercises and techniques of Spacial Dynamics® are currently used by movement therapists, M.D.'s, Osteopathic physicians, chiropractors, licensed massage therapists, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and psychologists to work with everything from physical movement related disorders to various emotional and developmental issues.

Personal Growth

Sankt Urban Klinik: Luzern, Switzerland

By changing the quality of the way a person moves, a person will change the quality of his or her life. Spacial Dynamics® works specifically to reverse or redirect one's own unconscious, habitual movements that are working against one's own progress.

For example, movements that belong to earlier stages of development, such as early childhood reflexes that have not been integrated, can hinder our ability to choose how to react. Traumatic events also have a way of spacially lingering and hindering personal growith. These and other unconscious movements can be addressed and "moved through" so that the adult can "move on."

Counselors, psychologists, and trained Spacial Dynamics therapists currently work with these methods.

Birth Preparation

The fluidity with which a mother is able to move her body in relation to space will have a great effect on how she is able to move through the birthing process. The unique Spacial Dynamics® approach to posture and one's carriage can help expectant mothers avoid unnecessary strain and injury while moving with greater ease through pregnancy and childbirth. Nurses and mid-wives have used the fluid, rhythmic movements of Spacial Dynamics® to help effectively guide and support the process of birth to benefit both mother and child.

The Elderly

As the physical body becomes more frail, the space around the physical body becomes even more vital for continued mobility and preventing falls. Enlivened space can be used as a support and even a tool for movement, balance, and increased confidence and vitality. Activities as simple and important as getting up out of a chair, a bed, walking the dog, or working in the kitchen are greatly enhanced by the techniques of Spacial Dynamics®. Nurses, massage therapists, movement therapists, doctors, and relatives trained in Spacial Dynamics® have worked with the elderly to help increase their possibility of movement and reduce the risk of falls.
